Siempre Mas has been a catchphrase for us this month. It means always more and usually we’re talking about no matter how much work gets done there’s always more we want to do. Such is life on a farm. It’s a phrase that for me has also been applicable for my walk with God.
a perfect example of there always being more. Went on a hike we had no clue where it ended, it never ended for us so we just had to turn around after being out there for 45 min.
I walked into this journey in a solid place with the Lord. I know my identity in Him, I’m working on multiple things about my relationship with Jesus, but I felt pretty good about it.
The first few weeks were a whirlwind with Holy Spirit as I struggled to hear Him clearly outside of the routine I had boxed Him in. It felt like my relationship was going backward in terms of intimacy.
this sweet girl was such a gift from God. Me and her were just chatting and being friends and she grabbed my arm, sat me down, and her and her friends started braiding my hair. When she was done, she gave me a best friends bracelet. Such a sweet reminder of the way you can love someone deeply even if you’ve just met.
Once the braids were finished. reminded me of the Audrey Hepburn quote, “For beautiful hair let a child run their fingers through it.”
I was chatting with one of my squad leaders and she told me that maybe I wasn’t going backward, but was instead being introduced to a new side of God. I asked Holy Spirit if that was the case and He said it was.
I have no problem receiving Jesus as a savior and a teacher, but He revealed to me that I didn’t know him as his bride and I didn’t know Holy Spirit as a friend.
I forget which preacher said it (probably Todd White, I love that guy) but they said, “If you see Jesus as only a teacher all you get is a lesson.”I was struggling to feel connected to Him because I had reduced our relationship to revelations about Him. Revelations are great, but just knowing everything about someone doesn’t mean you have a good relationship with them. You have to experience life together with them.
ice cream with our sweet host who taught us so much about ministry. Everywhere we went she would make sure to take the time to talk and pray with each woman or child individually. She shows Jesus so beautifully in her actions.
No matter how far along you are with your relationship with God, there is always more He wants to tell you, teach you, experience with you. There’s always a new side of His character to discover.
I’m excited to learn and grow in this relationship and see Jesus and Holy Spirit in a new light. I would encourage you to pray and ask the Holy Spirit how it is that you primarily know Him and if there’s another side He wants to introduce to you. There’s always more. Siempre mas!!
That’s good stuff Addie
